1-3 Pier Place, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent ME2 4UY Club Cruises 2003 Club Cruising this year began with an Easter sail to St Katharine Yacht Haven close by Tower Bridge, the Saturday matinée performance of Stones in his Pockets followed by a Club meal.
In early May we again visited Heybridge Basin on the River Blackwater with the opportunity to explore Maldon, wander along the Chelmer & Blackwater canal or simply idle away the hours with a drink or two in one of the riverside pubs nearby.
There was a short cruise to the lighter at Queenborough in mid-May with a barbecue and a jolly, to be followed next day by a Ladies Race back to Upnor - for all those ladies who feel a little bit competitive.
Once again we have taken part in the ever popular annual Narrow Seas Club Calais Rally at the end of May.
Early June brings us to the Commodore's Cruise which this year was to Ramsgate. A Club meal was planned at the Royal Temple Yacht Club...
Shorter cruises were arranged to Harty Ferry, South Deep and Lower Halstow in June, July and September and once again cruising to Brightlingsea at the end of August, with a Club meal at the Colne Yacht Club on the Sunday evening.
The Club Holiday this year was to Holland to explore the Inland Waterways and to generally enjoy the friendly atmosphere there.
