24/07/05 (Sat) Day Trip to Stangate Creek

Despite half of the yachts in the Club being away in Holland and other exotic destinations it was good to see an excellent turnout in Stangate Creek this weekend despite the mediocre weather.
A crowd of us descended upon Skybird and the refreshments were soon flowing. This carried on into the evening when Paul created a huge dish of chilli, the rice being prepared on new members Julian and Fiona's yacht Serica tied alongside. Margaret put together a fresh fruit salad with about half a bottle of Malibu in it so we all slept well.
Others chose to enjoy the tranquility on their own yachts and I understand that those in Sharfleet were even treated to a visit by seals.
The journey home was dampened by rain but of course the sun broke through once we were back on the moorings.
