Club Cruises 2006

This year our cruises include old favourites such as St Katharine Dock, Faversham Creek, Brightlingsea and of course our usual weekend visits to Queenborough for a barbecue and Stangate Creek for lunch at The Three Tuns.

The Calais Rally at the end of May usually attracts large numbers of Club boats and has always been great fun with the possibility of a trophy for the Club - greatest number attending.

We have some cruising for shallow draft vessels with a visit to Benfleet Creek at the end of July and a cruise to Paglesham via Havengore in September for the more adventurous.

Join us when we anchor off the sands for a Rounders Match with Hoo Ness Yacht Club and Thurrock Yacht Club on 2nd September. The programme says Blythe Sands but Marsh End Sands opposite Southend seems more likely. Then on the 24th September a rowing race round the moorings in your dinghy.

This year our Club Holiday Cruise from 8th to 23rd July will be to the East Coast Rivers in the wake of Maurice Griffiths. We hope to include the River Deben, the River Orwell, Walton Backwaters and the Rivers Colne and Blackwater.

With all the cruises it helps the Cruise Captain if you can let him know that you are thinking of attending. If your plans change it is usually easier to cancel berths and restaurants than it is to add them on the day. It also helps us keep a lookout for you on passage, which is one of the many benefits of cruising in company with the Club.

The Cruise Captain Mike Prescott will be happy to answer any queries, just ask.
