1-3 Pier Place, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent ME2 4UY 01/01/06 (Sun) New Year's Cruise to Queenborough Lady Olivia, Bonny Girl, Skybird and Osprey made the trip to Queenborough on New Year's Day where they were met by several not so intrepid car travellers for a meal in the Old House at Home.
Fair winds made for a fast passage in both directions, Lady Olivia benefiting from her recent visit to the scrubbing posts as she was able to keep up with Skybird and didn't lose too much ground to Bonny Girl.
The rain was made almost bearable by averaging 6 knots on a broad reach.
Fortunately the rain held off for the return journey which meant sails were dried after a beat all the way up to Gillingham on the same tack.
My new year's resolution is to get the work done quickly this year so I can join in the cruise to St Katharine's at Easter.
Happy sailing in '06.
