1-3 Pier Place, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent ME2 4UY Club Cruises 2007 This year's cruises will include an Easter Cruise to West India Dock at Canary Wharf, a May Day weekend cruise to Harty Ferry with a possible lunch time dinghy visit to Faversham, and an August Bank Holiday cruise to Brightlingsea. There will of course be our usual weekend visits to Queenborough for a barbecue and Stangate Creek for rafting up or maybe a visit to Lower Halstow by dinghy.
The Calais Rally at the end of May has more civilised tidal times this year and usually attracts a large number of Club boats. It has always been great fun with the possibility of a trophy for the Club with the greatest number of boats attending.
This year we are going to try an Experience Day when Club members might like to join another vessel to practice sail trimming, anchoring, man overboard methods etc. or just to see how another vessel is run. There are a number of skippers willing to invite you along so just contact the cruise captain if you are interested.
Last year's rounders match on the sands was scuppered due to bad weather but maybe we shall be lucky this year.
Our Holiday cruise will be from 7th July until 22nd of July, to Holland. We hope to be visiting such favourites as Middelburg, Veere, and Zierikzee. Even if you are not part of the cruise for all of the time you will be welcome to join us if you are cruising in the area.
With all the cruises it helps the cruise captain if you can let him know if you are thinking of attending. If your plans change it is usually easier to cancel berths and restaurants than it is to add them on to the day. It also helps us keep a lookout for you on passage which is one of the many benefits of cruising in company with the Club.
