1-3 Pier Place, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent ME2 4UY Would you like an IRC rating for your boat?
People who regularly take part in the racing at the Medway Yacht Club races may already be aware that there are changes in their rules for all races in regards to the way the B class is run and they are trying to extend the A class. If possible the A class will split into two fleets A1 and A2.
The B class in the Medway Yacht Club and at Inter club races such as the Maximum series this year will be a white sail only class (no spinnakers or cruising chutes) and will be open to any boat with a current MYA PN handicap certificate.
These changes are done to:
- ensure fairer ratings for the more competitive racers (rating the boat and not the crew) - A class.
- provide a good entry level class for the less experienced and short-handed racers - B class.
In line with this Medway Yacht Club have negotiated a 50% discount for IRC applications and have extended this invitation to USC boats that are interested.
If anybody would like to take benefit in getting an IRC rating at this discount please let me know as soon as possible with the model of boat you want to apply with so I can forward these details.
If you require a MYA PN rating certificate please let me know as well and I will forward you the application form for this as well.
Best regards
Hubertus Haniel
