1-3 Pier Place, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent ME2 4UY Floating Causeway Regulations People
1 All persons using the floating causeway do so at their own risk.
2 Lifejackets or personal buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
3 No running.
4 No fishing.
5 Any mess must be cleared up immediately.
Any disabled person requiring assistance must be aided by two Club members when using the floating causeway. The Floating Causeway Regulations apply as for any other member including the wearing of lifejackets. Please do not take risks. Dinghies
6 Dinghies, trolleys or other obstructions must not be left anywhere on the floating causeway.
7 Dinghies shall not be dragged but must be carried or wheeled.
8 Dinghies shall only be launched and retrieved from the launching ramps.
9 Dinghies shall not be moored on the outside of the hammerhead.
10 Dinghies must not be left tied to the floating causeway for more than one tide.
Yachts
11 Mooring to the floating causeway is limited to Upnor Sailing Club Members' yachts and other vessels in genuine distress.
12 Maximum two yachts moored alongside at the same time. Overall weight limit 12 tons.
13 Yachts must be fendered correctly to prevent damage to either yacht or floating causeway.
14 Yachts may moor only on the outside of the hammerhead.
15 Yachts are permitted to moor for a maximum of thirty minutes.
16 Yachts must not be left unattended.
17 Yachts may moor only for the purposes of embarking or disembarking crew, loading or unloading stores or supplies.
18 Yachts using the scrubbing-off docks must take care to navigate clear of the floating causeway.
19 Any incident or damage must be reported immediately to a member of the General Committee, either in person or by phone on 07092 197923. If no Committee Member is available then a note must be posted through the Clubhouse letterbox with your name, address, telephone number and details of the incident.
