Upnor Sailing Club

Upnor Sailing Club

Upnor - Upnor Reach, in the tidal river Medway, here are our moorings and our all-tide landing (without which we cannot get on the water)

- and progressively more assets - Clubhouse (toilets, showers, bar, kitchen, function room, workroom, office, car parking, storage, workshop), dinghy park, scrubbing posts, equipment, beach, workboats

Sailing - what we do

includes - boating (being on a boat), serious racing, fun racing, not racing at all (if it just seems too daft to be trying to get it over with as soon as possible), other waterborne activities (raft racing, fishing, etc), cruising (long distance, faraway, continental, coastal, local), cruising in company, singlehanding, living aboard, daysailing, social anchoring and mooring, learning

Club - the Club is us, the members - we are the Club

how we work and play together...

a balance between paying for everything and doing everything ourselves, the feelings of inclusion, gathering together, helping each other, sharing, the enjoyment of our company, caring, organized meetings, learning

'The Club is for the encouragement of amateur sailing' - (Rule 2)

we are us, us is we

Of course, some of our members are also members of other clubs, on the Medway, and elsewhere...

The Club is NOT in the business of promoting sailing to those who do not already (wish to) participate (individual members may do this however).

We are friendly towards other clubs and their members, and expect to be well received by them.
