Thames Estuary

Towers

a truly great sailing area

the largest area of (relatively shallow) sheltered water around the UK

there are shoals and drying banks, deeps and swatchways

oddities like the WWII sea forts (even the 'Principality of Sealand')

Kentish Flats Offshore Windfarm

and - Gunfleet Sands Offshore Windfarm

and several more proposed windfarms

it frightens some (most?) south coast softies from the Solent

a part of the North Sea (which some consider to be the Rhine Estuary)

most interesting navigation

a few harbours directly open to the sea

plenty of clubs and harbours in the many rivers and creeks

the Kent coast and access to mainland Europe from Scandinavia to Gibraltar and beyond...
