Medical HypnotherapyHypnotherapy
is rapidly developing into a specialist branch of medicine, as is evident
from the very active Hypnotherapy section within the Royal Society of Medicine
(RSM). This section is devoted to the use of medical hypnotherapy within a
clinical framework. As more is
learned about the way in which certain conditions are acquired and perpetuated,
the resolution of inappropriate behaviour patterns by hypnosis is becoming
more relevant. Furthermore, hypnosis, as opposed to medical treatment, is
without side effects. Medical
hypnotherapy is not restricted to inappropriate behaviour. It is also used
with considerable success for many psychological and physical conditions. Hypnotherapy and the NHSThe
Clinical Hypnotherapy and Research Department at Maidstone Priority Care NHS
Trust have pioneered the use of hypnotherapy within the NHS, and it is
apparent that this is working well, with hypnotherapy providing considerable
benefit to the vast majority of patients. |
