Any good search engine will give you thousands of possible dyslexia sites. Below we hope to list some of the more useful ones, with, where possible, a brief review. Please note that some are commercially oriented, and the compiler takes no responsibility for any information contained within, nor do we endorse the products or services offered. British Dyslexia Association The British Dyslexia Association has an extensive site that includes advice for parents, teachers and other professionals. Also has information to download, and a diary of British events.
International Dyslexia Association This extensive web site covers most aspects regarding dyslexia in the USA. Also lists local branches and events.
Hornsby International Dyslexia Centre The centre was establish over 15 years ago to run courses for the training of teachers, as well as perform assessments. It runs a very successful international correspondence course. Recently they have been invited to run extended courses for educational psychologists and teachers in other countries including Hong Kong and Brazil.
European Children in Crisis The European Dyslexia Association exists to promote awareness and understanding of dyslexia, particularly in Europe, but increasingly in other parts of the world. It is aimed at those families who may be moving, for reasons of employment, from one country to another.
Dyslexia Institute The Dyslexia Institute runs courses for teachers as well as assessments.
LD Online The official web site of the Coordinated Campaign for Learning Disabilities, which includes an opportunity to sign up for their regular newsletter (email version).
National Organisation for Learning Disabilities This is a site that has a number of useful resources, and links to other resource centres.
SKILL - The National Bureau for Students with Disabilities Whilst it covers all disabilities, there is a lot of useful information for the dyslexic adult
Instant Access Treasure Trove The foreign language teacher's guide to learning disabilities, though really not as restrictive as that may sound. Good for such resources on a diversity of topics from law to learning styles to government (US) resources to college policies.
Alex PDQ This is a cartoon character, attached to the Gift of Dyslexia site. Quirky humour by David Brown.
Teachers (US) chat group Seems to have a whole host of threads posted.
Questions Publishing Publisher of Special Children (UK) magazine, and a useful resource with web shopping facilities. Library (costs!) jobs, books.
Mailbase Discussion Group This is a mainly UK email based discussion forum about dyslexia
iANSYST A commercial site that has lots of useful advise on how technology may help the dyslexic individual
