Westbury EWS Drivers
and their Workplace - a Snapshot.
Firstly you will notice that I have chosen colours for this web site
that are close to the colours of EWS locos, the border is similar
to the loco body colours, and the background is similar to "loco cab green".

08 and JCB
By way of an introduction
the first picture in this EWS section shows an 08 class loco on a train that is being loaded with ballast in the Virtual Quarry no. 2 siding (ex no. 17) in Westbury Up Yard.

Here we see the leading class 37 of a multiple pair, manned by Westbury Driver Richard Gould, leaving Westbury Down Yard on route to Exeter.

This picture, taken in 1998 shows 37415 at the official reopening of Okehampton station.

59's and 66's at Merehead
On the occassion of Foster Yeoman's 75th. anniversary in June 1998, a variety of loco classes were assembled at their Merehead depot, and here we see, from the left, locos 59004 Paul A Hammond, 59104 Village of Great Elm, 66001, 59201 Vale of York, and 59005 Kenneth J Painter, grouped outside the Depot building at Merehead.
The author can be seen in front of 59005.
