Reviewer George Hogg

This is a1/76th scale white metal kit in 33 parts ( 23 gun, 10 carriage ) as well as the parts there is an exploded diagram of the gun , a line drawing of the gun and carriage, a photo reproduction and a short history and technical description.

Before starting construction you need to decide wether to depict the gun in firing or travelling mode, I decide to model the gun only, in a elevated possition, as with most artillery models I find it easier to paint certain parts before construction. Constuction was carried out using a thick "super glue" and the model was constructed on a smooth glazed bathroom tile, this provides a very flat surface.

The spades were first glued into the legs, then the legs glued into the base, the carriage of the gun was then assembled and glued to the turntable, the next step was to find where trunnions fit, after looking at the parts the bearing is at the end of the gun slide, align this with the bearings on the carriage and glue into place, a useful tip is to put a lump of "bluetac" in place to hold the gun at the right elevation while the glue sets. the rest of the parts were then glued into place using the drawings provided as a guide, the turntable was then glued to the leg assembly.

All in all a very nice gun filling one of the holes in ww2 artillery, only critisim is a more possitve location for the trunions would be helpful as an inexperianced modeller might find a problem correctly locating this part
