Here's an early screenshot of the game I'm trying to write atm.

What'll the game be called? The name it'll have, which I took a fair while thinking about is ESCAPE TO TANGLEFOOT FOREST. Here's an unfinished version of the name image: early version of ettf name image

This is a (very, very) early sub-program I have written related to the game. It is my first ever go at simple collision detection which is why it needs a lot of work. The player/user won't control an insect in the actual game but here you do because I wanted to practice things like cleaning up bitmaps of dirty rectangles and translating user input in a specific, precise way.  Please take a look. If you don't know - you need all the files in the .zip in the same directory AND you must have directX - windows hardware interface installed for the program to work.   It's not much yet but I'm none-the-less quite proud of what I've managed to do.  Send me an e-mail if you want to make a comment about it. Thanks.

I've spent some time on the opening screen picture.. quite a bit of hard works been done on it though it's still only really an early WIP. I've shrunk it to half it's original dimensions (1024*768).. .so those like myself dialling up don't have to spend too long for it to download. Nice when i bit of hard work comes into bloom!

I've started this page because i've been playing loads of non-professionally made (or amateur :) ) games which are of particular interest to me seeing as i've spent a lot of time and energy on my ambition of writing one myself. This part of the site is mainly aimed at people who make or are interested in making games or maybe just interested in how computer games are made. This could of course include everyone :) I haven't thought a lot about how i'm going to set it all out as usual but things should work out okay, with a modicum (bit) of luck. The pages for each game will all be just in plain old black and white to make life easier for myself.   This isn't intended to be a fathomless repository of amateur games. There wouldn't be a lot of point. Most of the amateur games i've played i got from

......have a good look there if you want to try out some games. There's literally hundreds and of many genres (and they're all free to download and play ! Also you'll find links to all sorts of game making resources there too. If you're interseted and have the time...... go take a look.
