Claire was born abroad in the Far East in the early 1970s, which goes someway to explaining her penchant for wearing dodgy gold embroded chinese jumpsuits and platform heals. Her formative years were spent terrorising her long suffering brother Phil and swimming with the Dolphins (that's the team, not Flipper's friends). In her teenage years she could be found with the Prestbury Venture Scouts in the Kings Arms enjoying a refreshing pint of sweet cider, later on she frequented Cheltenham's premier night spot: Gas with other like-minded youths before progressing on to the dizzy heights upstairs at the Cafe Continental. Claire studied and graduated in Occupational Therapy whilst living in Oxford before working in Cheltenham. Claire met Will in 1996 at Ali and Mike's Wedding Reception and gave him short-shrift as she was hell bent on hateing all men and getting filthy drunk. The 2nd time she met Will was that Christmas eve at the Black Bear (no surprises there then) and whilst on a skiing holiday in the following January they became friends and romantically involved - no that is not a euphemism.

In 1998 Claire moved to London to live with Will in a small flat somewhere between Kilburn, Cricklewood and West Hampstead, then in March 2000 set off for South America on the Republicca di Genova.
