Cheers, thank you for all your hospitality (L-R): Nancy, Will, Gaston, Carlos and Claire
The Domenech family were our wonderful hosts for nine days in Rancagua, Chile. Everything you could hope for in host they were. They patiently listened to us compose our painful spanish sentences, they took us out to places of interest, they treated us to meals, introduced us to their friends and family and in short ensured that we had a fantastic time in their home town and country. Carlos (senior) the head of the house, a kind and gentle man who works as a supervisor in the smelter attached to the world's largest underground copper mine.
Carlos was very interested in our trip to Cuba as he had visited Cuba just after the revolution to play international football for Chile. Likes a cervesa. English football and cooking on the barbecue. Nancy a generous and kind lady who always greeted us with a smile when we came down to breakfast and arranged trips for us to see places and meet people. Carlos (junior), we nevermet as he is studying medicine in Concepcion to become a doctor - we're grateful for the temporary loan of his bedroom. Cristobal - middle son - is studying civil engineering at a university in Santiago during the week and returns home to party at the weekends. Gaston youngest son studying at high school in preparation to go to university to study law or journalism - a future president of Chile? Loves to party and was kind to us the whole time we were there, even when with his friends. Carlos cooking up a feast

Favourite band: The Verve, favourite line: "the drugs don't work, they just make it worse.".
Carlos, Nancy and family, if you ever want to visit the UK and would like to spend some time with us we would be more than pleased to have you stay with us.
