< Day 44

Day 45 - Monday 8th May 2000

Day 46 >
Carlos took Claire and myself in to the town centre to post our soveniers back home (£15, 4Kg and 2 - 3 months by sea). Afterwards Claire went with Nancy for a chinese takeaway lunch at Carmen Glorias house out in the country side with 8 "amigas". The chat was about the usual: men, children and friends in rapid fire spanish which Claire managed to understand about 10% with the help of Nancy and another woman (who spoke some English). Carlos collected Nancy and Claire about 4ish and brought them back to the house where we packed - packing is becoming a bit more of a slick manoever.

"Once" was prepared around 6pm and Alicia arrived soon after, we gave our presents and said how much we had enjoyed our stay with their family (via Alicia), Carlos and Nancy reciprocated (via Alicia). Then the champaigne was served with ice cream or Creme de Casis and toasts were made and addresses exchanged. The family asked us to call them when we get to Santiago so that we can go out for a meal. Carlos drove us to the bus stop at 11, where we boarded the bus - all the lights were out and most of the passengers were fast asleep, we settled down for our overnight trip to Villarrica.
