A lardy "Denny's" breakfast set us up for the day and we continued north on the interstate up through Washington. The interstate took us right through the centre of Seattle and through the border into Canada - easiest border crossing ever, but will it be so easy getting back? By late afternoon we had reached the Best Western motel in Vancouver where my Mum and Dad, Sonia and John, were staying and we met them in the lobby just as we were about to check in. It was fantastic to see them after being away for so long, they were in a relaxed holiday mood and we followed them to their room where we were parented with cups of (english) tea, gifts etc whilst exchanging news and gossip. We were really touched that Claire's Mum and Dad and sent a package of gifts to us via Sonia and John (S+J).
Later in the evening S+J took us into central Vancouver where we were treated to a smashing meal sat on the patio of a restaurant with views across the harbour bay. Our first impressions of Vancouver are of a very clean modern city and all the people look very healthy. Feeling full and happy to see S+J we returned to our motel and collapsed into bed.
