We had planned an early start the previous night and so by 7.30am we were in S+J's room eating breakfast. The shuddering problem with our car hadn't been fixed by balancing the wheels and so we attempted unsuccesfully to find a garage to align the car's wheels. We gave up after a short time and started our drive up the Fraser Valley, there's little here in the way of settlements but the scenery is great as the road follows the river. We took a break at Hell's Canyon to ride the cable car down to a bridge across the raging Fraser river, and had lunch at a site overlooking the huge cargo trains that go up and down the railway along the valley.
After lunch we split up and Claire rode with my Dad and my Mum rode with me, it gave Claire an opportunity to get to know my Dad a little better and me an opportunity to catch up on gossip with my Mum. A little later than intended we checked into a motel in Kamloops and had a huge - honestly it was truly massive, almost obscene - Greek meal at a nearby restaurant.
