After a cold disturbed night all Claire could say is she's glad she wasn't an Indian - although they did have fires inside + lots of skins and furs, we had 2 blankets and a quilt from Walmart! We left our tee-pee encampment early in an attempt to make good progress down south towards Yellowstone national park. On the way we detoured to Great Falls - which sounds lovely, but isn't, for me to collect my replacement digital camera and then carried on through prarie land and state parks to the cowboy town of Livingston. We were both surprised by the amount of haze we encountered drifting from the forest fires - its a major problem here this summer.
At Livingston we checked in to a grim campsite - a stone's throw from the Interstate and then after dinner went into town to see a movie - Space Cowboys. We were both really impressed with how friendly everyone was in the small town, even passing teenagers on bikes said hello!
