So far we only have some places and dates for our travels, I'm hoping to find some maps on the web to show our progress.

Flight: London, UK, to Paris, France, date: 16th March 2000
We're flying to Paris to initialise our One World air tickets. We'll stay for the day and then come back to the UK on the Eurostar from Gare du Nord. The real first part of the trip is to be by ship which caused a few problems with the air ticket as British Airways (BA) want us to fly out of the UK at the start and then fly back in at the end. We were going to start the One World ticket by booking a flight from London, UK, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and then not turn up. But the travel agent - Global Village - couldn't guarantee that BA wouldn't cancel the ticket if we didn't take the first flight. Global Village said that there was very little risk of this happening, but I had visions turning up at the check-in desk in Buenos Aires only for the person behind the desk to give it some "not today, mate. Your tickets have been binned. Adios amigo.", hence the short flight to Paris to kick it all off. I figure if they issue the ticket with the actual flights we're going to take then its valid.

  • Saturday, 22nd July 2000: Phoenix to Flagstaff, Arizona. Interstate 17 to exit 262, Highway 69 through Prescott Valley, Highway 89 to 89A, through Jerome and Sedona to Flagstaff.
  • Monday, 24th July 2000: Flagstaff, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. Interstate 40 to exit 139, Old Route 66 through Seligman to Kingman, Highway 93 to the Hoover Dam and Boulder City, then Highway 95 into Vegas.
  • Tuesday, 25th July 2000: Las Vegas, Nevada to Silverwood Lake near Hesperia, California. Interstate 15 all the way to Hesperia.
  • Wednesday, 26th July 2000: Silverwood Lake near Hesperia to Carpinteria State Beach near Santa Barbara, California. Interstate 210 to Interstate 5, Highway 216 to Interstate 101.
  • Thursday, 27th July 2000: Carpinteria State Beach near Santa Barbara to Oceano, California. A mixture of US 1 and Interstate 101 along the coast.
  • Friday, 28th July 2000: Oceano to Big Sur, California. US 1 along the coast.
  • Saturday, 29th July 2000: Big Sur to San Francisco, California. US 1 along the coast.
  • Tuesday, 1st August 2000: San Francisco to Healdsburg via Vallejo, California. Highway 101 over the Golden Gate bridge, route 37 and 128.
  • Wednesday, 2nd August 2000: Healdsburg to Standish Hickey State Recreation Area, California. Sanoma Valley and route 1.
  • Thursday, 3rd August 2000: Standish Hickey State Recreation Area to Patrick Point's State Park via Eureka and Samoa, California. Route 1 and Highway 101.
  • Friday, 4th August 2000: Patrick Point's State Park to Jeddiah Smith Redwoods State Park, California. Route 1 and 199.
  • Sunday, 6th August 2000: Jeddiah Smith Redwoods State Park, California to Crater Lake National Park, Oregon. Route 199, 99, Interstate 5, Route 234 and 62.
  • Tuesday, 8th August 2000: Crater Lake National Park, Oregon to Longview, Washington. Route 138 and Interstate 5.
  • Wednesday, 9th August 2000: Longview, Washington to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Interstate 5 and Highway 1.
