Notes:

A clear distinction should be made between the ASM and the ASM professional soccer
section. The ASM [Athletic Association of Monaco] is an association [amateurs]
created in beginning of the century and affiliated to the Olympic International
Committee. Soccer has its own entity, therefore independent of the ASM.
Only the name can lead to confusion, because this entity is called AS Monaco soccer.
It is divided in 2; a professional side with its team evolving to division one
french and European competition tenor. The other is the amateur section.
In Monaco it concerns the subject of a possible national section, which would have
entirely the right to exist. The reason is above all economic; thus it could be
feared to lose the right to have a club playing in the French division [a false
fear however]; secondly, it is order practices, since there exist only too few
players [all amateurs] having Monacan nationality. Moreover, these players are a young
category in relation to the veterans. Monaco which possesses its soccer school there
exist other clubs [the Omnium Monacan Sport] a women's soccer body and the Hospital
club which plays in a corporate region championship. Despite the considerable means
of the professional club, the lack of equipment affects amateurs in general, in spite
of the willingness and the high competence of its leaders.
