Why is this here ?
This site is currently mothballed, and if I get time to do anything with the material, it will probably resurface on a different URL - if it does, I'll come back and leave a note. To see what I'm up to now, you should go to Laughing Robot Web Design - the business I set up when I decided to go freelance.
This site existed mainly to direct people to some of the sites that I have designed. It doesn't include anything from the job I was doing at the time these pages were written (working as head of programming for a web design firm), the work I did for MCIN or the work I did on CGI scripts for the Merseymail system for Connect at Liverpool University as those projects are mainly "design by committee" with several programmers working on each site.

This site was never properly finished: real life got in the way, and priorities changed. Eventually it should have had some articles on logo design and photography, and a few other things. Eventually I may decide to re-use some of this material as part of a personal site, but there are other projects to occupy me for the time being. Some people have said they like the articles, so I'm leaving them here for now.
