Hi Bob - first off here's the new logo ready for the web page - same size, same filename, anti-aliased for the same background, so it should just drop straight in.
Next up is a B&W version for use on the Runestaff.
This is 2028 by 621 pixels - should be a suitable size for printing at 600dpi - which makes it a bit big to display on a web page - here's a link to the print quality logo.
Below is a low res mockup of a suggested possible layout for the runestaff masthead. The current heavy box around the masthead tends to make things a little cramped and there seems to be rather a lot of display type - this is an attempt to open it up a bit and give the type room to breathe (less is more)- The heavy date block should make it easier to find the current issue. - the mockup uses "basic sans" - bold, all caps for the "runestaff" and date block, and "basic sans" - normal, lower for the web address (the strapline on the logo is "basic sans light").
Date block is square, same size as shield. Note positon of logo - even though it's well to the left of centre it appears centred because the whitespace at each end is balanced.
