Welcome to the YMCA Glasgow Wind Orchestra.

We are a community Wind Band in Glasgow, founded in 1982.
Our membership includes youth and experience - a wide range of ages and musical backgrounds.Our repertoire is also extensive : Marches, Overtures, Classical Music, Music from Stage and Screen, Solo Features, Contemporary Band Music and so on.
We are not a competing band, but find other opportunities to play.
We give concerts in the Glasgow area (around eight per year) and are invited to all sorts of venues and events, large and small.

The main aspect of our operation, and the one for which we are best known, is our tour programme. We normally travel overseas every second year and, through our YMCA connections, have been to a wide variety of destinations.

Membership is open to anyone of suitable ability and experience, subject to mutual approval and, if necessary, an audition.
