Most Wind Orchestras exist for one of two reasons - competitions or tours. The YMCA Glasgow Wind Orchestra fits into the latter category. Since 1983 the Orchestra has travelled away roughly every two years and in its short history has travelled to numerous countries including - the USA, Denmark and Italy - to represent YMCA Glasgow and to establish and regain frienships with host YMCAs.
