Welcome. This is a place where the divide between "myth" and "reality" can be forgotten

This page is a link to the forum, my e-mail address, and containts a brief site history.

Welcome, if you are a new visitor, here's a brief description of what's in the site, and how to navigate it.

This site is mostly a way for me to express my views about Dragons, and to share my obsession with them, and to share my interest in Computer equipment and automobiles.

The site can be navigated easily by the use of the navigation bar to the left.

Feel free to E-mail me with comments or constructive criticism.

Enjoy,

Zelandeth.

You Know you've been reading Pern too long when...

Site History.

12.02.2002: THE GUESTBOOK IS BACK! Finally unearthed the URL and added it to the NavFrame. Also added a small warning about the "under construction" state of the site right now to the intro page.

11.02.2002: Update on the update. As you've probably spotted - at least half of the place is down, it's a construction zone without any nice barriers showing you that. I'm working on it as we speak, and will try to get some kind of order back shortly.

As you also may have noted, there has been a major change to the gallery. I've split it into three sections now (hand, photo and comp). Which is also where the newest graphical addition can be spotted. I've created a whole new type of button for that section - GREEN ones. Now I've set out a standard.

RED: General Site navigation.

BLUE: Page Title.

GREEN: Page Sub category.

That is hopefully going to make it easier to tell what you're looking at. I may also intorduce a white or yellow one for external sites like the guestbook (which will be back shortly) and the forum. Speaking of the forum, it's now been moved onto the NavFrame along with the hit counter, which I think makes it look a lot tidier. Also stops the counter registering it every time you go from a section back to the main page...

PLEASE! If you have any sugestions, now is the time to make them on the relevent section in the forum...make the suggestions while I'm actually working on the site!

09.02.2002: MAJOR update here. Entire site's directory structure rebuilt from scratch.

After the flaming incident I recently had, at least half of this site was closed down. When i started reopening it, I realised just how badly structured the filesystem was, and decided that while the site was partially down, that it was a good time to do something about it. In the end, the response was simple - wipe out everything in my webspace, and just rebuild it piece by piece from the mirror on my PC, but rebuild it correctly. Turns out I had a good 1.2Mb of duplicate files, which given that the whole site's just over 3meg, is quite a substantial mess-up on my part!

Despite the substantial work, I have tried to change the look and feel of the site as little as possible; basically because nobody's complained about it, so I'm guessing that I must be doing something right. Most of the changes are small alterations to page layouts, a few fixed typos (and a few new ones no doubt), and a couple of new graphics. The only real noticable change is in the intro page, which I decided took far too long to load on slower connections, and looked more than a little tacky, especially in lower screen resolutions. I am also working on a Text Only version of the site (without of course the gallery).

The gallery also benifited from this update, as I (finally) resized all images to 800 or less pixels horizontal, which should be sufficient for most users to see reasonably well and quickly.

04.12.2001: Added Coloured version of "Take-Off" to Gallery. Found out that the site downtime yesterday (19:30 - 22:15) was nothing to do with me...luckily for my PC...

02.12.2001: After many hours of attempts, finally got a visible version of "Take Off" onto the gallery. Also, rearranged the gallery so that new entries are now at the top of the page - seems more logical that way.

01.12.2001: Added new image to the gallery "Take Off". Also, added a "Back to Gallery" button to each image page on the Gallery, Small update, but it sure took long enough. Moved Random Pern Quote down a line so that you do not have to wait for it to load before accessing the forum/guestbook.

17.11.2001: Updated the Links page at long last, changed two links for which the URLs had changed, shuffled the sections around a bit, changed the colour of the links to make them visible, and added a few new ones ot some PC Mod sites.

26.10.2001: Changed the format of the Site history so that new entries appear at the top of the page. Should make it easier to keep track of what's going on in LOZ.

20.10.2001. Rather a proud day for me, today, the site hit counter finally reached 1000. Thanks to those who check the site regularly for making that possible.

19.10.2001. Finally got around to adding the coloured version of "After A Hard Day's Work" to the Gallery, and changed the look of the gallery slightly to match this page. The sectional look will be spreading across the site as I work on it. I feel the site is starting to make progress now.

18.10.2001. Nothing much to report, cleaned up the look of the main page a bit. Added the "you know you've been reading pern too long when..." random quote, added a few horizontal dividers as a replacement for some of those gimmiky, and IMO annoying animated GIFs I'd got.

14.10.2001. Very small update. Added the scrollbar to the NavFrame. Having discovered that the Gallery and IRC icons were invisible to anyone running a screenmode less than 1024 x 768. Sorted out whatever it was that had happened to the alignment of the site history. Exactly what happened, I still do not know, and doubt I ever shall.

5.10.2001. Fixed a typo and added an image to the Gallery.

13.09.2001. Added Literature section. Haven't actually posted anything to it yet, but I have plans do do so over the next few days or weeks.

03.09.2001. Various Updates. Fixed a few dead links, typos, out of date info, started re-writing the Dragons page, added Draconic link Graphics.

20.07.2001. Finished updating the gallery, and added my Fiat Uno to the cars page.

07.07.2001: Fixed small but fundamental mistake in the Computers section...The T5200/100 now has the correct processor quoted. Thanks Ben for pointing out the 11MHz 486 originally quoted.

14.06.2001: Set up Gallery. Only one image at present, but anyone is welcome to submit artwork for it. Removed a few dead links from the Links section.

11.06.2001: Rewrote most pages to look better in Frames. Set up certain links in the Links section to open in their own frame. Totally rewrote this page. Began recording Site History.

10.06.2001: Set up Navigation Frame. Removed Iconbar from base of each page. Set up IRC Page.
