abusers
This list is very
out-of-date, and will be updated soon. Thank You.
These days everyone's in
it to put money into their back pocket at the end of the day. So,
before you think about getting an account with a FREE Webspace
Provider or a FREE URL Redirector, check the abusers section of
popBusters to see what they abuse, and also the eliminate section to
see how to eliminate their ads. If you can't see a FWP or FUR here,
then e-mail popbusters@hello.net.au
with the details of the FWP or FUR (Their Name, Their URL, Your Name
[optional], Your E-Mail Address [so I can get back to you]).
pop-up
abusers
frames abusers
ad bar abusers
e-mail abusers
pop-up
abusers
These companies have
decided that the only way they can make money is offering poor HTML
newbies FREE Web Space & E-Mail or FREE URL Redirection and
throwing a pop-up ad on it, crashing more computers than a virus ever
has. Or, is the pop-up ad a virus?
frames abusers
These people abuse
frames to their advantage, placing ads and other gimmicks and gizmos
in them. I think that they are a shocking group of people. These sorts
of companies are popping up every day, still using frames. HELLO?
There's newer technologies than frames! Netscape, the best browser,
has been supporting frames since version 2.0.
ad bar abusers
The following group of
companies put advertising banners or bars on your web site, either
advertising their service (like the Netscape SiteCentral and Homestead
ones), or supporting sponsors (like FreeServers.com and Yahoo!
GeoCities. These ones aren't *so* bad, if they're advertising their
service, like the Netscape and Homestead ones, especially Homestead
because it's at the bottom of your page if you use frames. These still
detract from your content, though and make you look stupid!
e-mail abusers
These companies are ones
that you should signup for a new e-mail account before you signup with
these providers. They constantly send you "offers" which are
actually paid ads. For a new e-mail account, check out MSN
Hotmail.
